This course is now delivered online and can be accessed directly at Health and Safety in Animal Facilities.

This course is for bona fide staff who works in and/or directed to take the by the Biological Services manager.

The course outlines the key risks when working with animals in any Biological Services Unit and it highlights the measures workers need to take to protect themselves.  This course is for anyone intending or working in a UCL Home Office designated animal facility and it must be completed in advance of attendance at Home office License training. 

This Fire Safety course is available only to students from Medical Sciences. 
Staff, post-graduate students and visitors need to use the UCL Learning course portfolio, to enrol on a similar course.

The Fire Safety course is mandatory for ALL staff, postgraduate students and contractors working for more than three days at UCL It is also a refresher course to be taken every two years in conjunction with completing a TN086 Technical Fire Note.

There are two modules in this course and learners must complete both and all the sections within:

Module 1  Basic Fire Safety information.

It consists of four short films covering: fire safety, fire evacuation for persons with a disability, role of the FEM and types of portable fire extinguishers.
