BPLN0009: Urban Planning in China: Frameworks, Practices and Case Studies (21/22)

This module aims to provide an understanding of the broad process of China’s urbanisation and development since the economic reform in 1978. It seeks to explore Chinese economic, social, and environmental challenges and understand urbanisation in its political and economic context drawing from a range of urban planning case studies. The module aims to develop students’ skills of critical analysis in relation to the politics and governance of urban planning in China and will seek to reflect upon the significance of these practice in China and, comparatively, further afield.
