CASA0002: Urban Simulation
The aim of this module is to present an array of modelling techniques and
methods as well as producing an awareness of the range of models primarily
being applied at the city scale, but with applications at different
geographical scales. It will develop an expertise in the model-building
process within planning and decision support environments. This will be
achieved within two main modelling and analytical tools: 1) spatial
interaction models – key tool to model expected flows from demographics,
and spatial configuration of land-uses in the system; 2) network theory –
key tool to represent interactions between components of the system and
flows.
