SOCS0031 - Introduction to Economics II 2021/22 (Term 2)

Welcome to Introduction to Economics II. This module is the second term of a first-year core sequence that prepares students for the upper year modules in the BSc Programme in Social Sciences with Quantitative Methods. This module picks up from the end of the last lecture of SOCS0030-Introduction to Economics I and continues with teaching students the economic way of thinking. This time, the contents focus on market failures, macroeconomics, and the links between economics and psychology and economics and sociology. All topics are covered with a strong policy focus and no advanced mathematics are used. This module is targeted towards students in the BSc Programme in Social Sciences with Quantitative Methods, although interested students from other areas at UCL are welcome if space permits. Check the weekly tabs for the topics and activities during the delivery of the module. The handbook provides a detailed description of contents as well as organisation of the module.
