IRDR0003: Advanced Emergency & Crisis Planning & Mgt (21/22)
Advanced Emergency and Crisis Planning and Management builds upon the
foundations laid in the previous module. It deals primarily with two
aspects: specialised forms of planning and management (i.e. emergency
response in particular fields and applied to particular problems), and
learning lessons from case histories of the most important and significant
disasters. Hence, the module covers emergency planning and management in,
for example, the medical and veterinary fields, for industrial sites and
hazardous materials transportation, for cultural heritage and in the
tourism industry, and for people with disabilities. In these and other
spheres, the principles, methodologies and practices taught in Fundamentals
of Emergency and Crisis Planning and Management are applied to common but
specific contexts. The module also tackles planning and management in
humanitarian emergencies, migration crises and pandemics.
