This module will introduce you to the exciting and varied field of illustrated publishing. Over the course of the module we will look at the past, present and potential futures of Comic Books, Co-editions, Art and Reference works (such as cookbooks and craft books) and Visual publications. Concepts such as visual language and semiotic considerations will be discussed. Where possible there may also be some visits from industry-based guest speakers to supplement our review of these publications with insights from those who have worked on their development.Assignment: A Case Study of a Publisher of Illustrated Works
