SEES0082: Political economy of international business 21/22

This course introduces students to the area of economic integration at the level of international business.  A microfocus is essential to understand how multinational enterprises (MNEs) are shaping patterns of trade, finance and the nature of globalisation. Equally, micro strategies are driven by technology change, by altering international institutional arrangements, and by the differentiated power of individual nation-states. The interaction of these factors produces different trajectories of integration and marginalisation in the global economy which are increasingly becoming an object of teaching. This course exposes students to the latest thinking, debates and theories and applies them in the context of the global economy.
