Welcome to the Division of Psychiatry MSc module in Epidemiological Methods in Mental health. This is a 15 credit module offered to all MSc students on the MSc in Clinical Mental Health and Mental Health Research. It is also available, by prior agreement with the module conveners, to other MSc students in UCL. On this module, we aim to provide you with an introduction to psychiatric epidemiology. Our module will cover the core principles of epidemiology, study designs, causal inference and public mental health. You should take this module if you plan on conducting any psychiatric research involving quantitative datasets in the future, whether as part of your MSc dissertation or beyond life as an MSc student here at UCL.
